A recent survey has revealed that many people end up going on holiday with an ex-partner purely for their childrens happiness .
The research conducted by holiday website takethefamily.com spoke to 750 parents. They found that out of all the respondents 41 per cent said that going away with an ex was the worst scenario.
Children will no doubt have a great time but one in four parents say that rather having a relaxing time they are put under more pressure and feel stressed.
Lucy Ace, managing director of takethefamily.com said, "With more and more parents sadly getting divorced, this survey shows the pressures modern families are under when they go on holiday.
"And while kids may like nana and granddad tagging along, parents seem to be less keen."
Ten per cent of those surveyed said they would prefer to go away without their children as it was too much hassle. While 17 per cent their worst nightmare was having their childrens friends going away with them.
