Virgin Atlantic Shares More Services With Singapore Airlines

From January 1 2007 Virgin Atlantic passengers will be able to travel on Singapore Airlines services between London and Sydney via Singapore .

A new codeshare agreement has been made between the two airlines allowing each others passengers on board their planes and is the latest in a series of commercial arrangements between the two. Other deals include a joint lounge access and round the world fares.

Virgin Atlantic's Commercial Director Willy Boulter said, "We are delighted to announce this extended codeshare with Singapore Airlines. The agreement offers passengers greater flexibility and connections to more destinations, together with fantastic value and excellent standards of service throughout their journey ."

Huang Cheng Eng, Singapore Airlines’ Vice President of Marketing also commented, "The expansion of the codeshare arrangements with Virgin Atlantic, our equity partner, reflects our commitment to offer our customers greater flexibility when planning their travel itineraries by offering them more choice of flights. I am also delighted to note that our commercial ties with Virgin Atlantic are growing rapidly."

Virgin Atlantic currently shares an agreement with Singapore Airlines' which allows passengers to travel on the latter’s flight services between London and Singapore and Manchester and Singapore . Passengers of Singapore Airlines can travel on Virgin Atlantic's services between Boston, Washington and Miami via London .

Another bonus for customers is that miles accrued on either airline can be used to fly on the other airline.

Virgin Atlantic is now Britain’s second largest long haul carrier, flying to all the world’s major cities .
