Passengers looking for holiday flights are spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding which airline to fly with, according to industry experts.
The UKs consumer council for air travellers - the Air Transport Users Council (ATUC) - said the flights market is currently split into two sections: one where the people are price-led and one where passengers seek a "bit more value" and are prepared to pay extra for it.
The ATUCs industry affairs manager, James Fremantle, commented: "Many passengers still choose prices first and foremost obviously were seeing that with passengers that fly with airlines such as Ryanair ."
"Ryanair has recently said that its not really worried about its frills all it is worried about is being a punctual airline at a cheap price ."
Fremantle said that the current "choice" of airlines available to travellers is healthy for the market . "We wouldnt like to see all airlines go the Ryanair way and we wouldnt want all airlines to go the BA way," he added.
The ATUC receives funding from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) as an auxiliary group within the CAAs corporate structure.
