The Alicante Tourist Board is set to launch a new publicity campaign in an attempt to lure more British holidaymakers to the Costa Blanca .
From next year cinemas across the UK will begin to advertise this part of the Valencia Region as part of the commercial build-up to films . The promotion will include local attractions, holiday hot spots, dining tips and more.
The news was announced on Wednesday in a press conference presented by Sebastián Fernández, the head of tourism with the Alicante provincial government .
He said the new campaign, which is budgeted with half a million euros will also include Costa Blanca holiday draws in cinemas where the advert is screened.
Britain is the Costa Blancas largest market for foreign tourism, although the region attracts tourists from all over Europe and beyond.
Fernández highlighted that the first three quarters of 2007 have seen around 5.2 million Brits people visit the Costa Blanca - up 14 per cent on the same period last year.
