British Airways, one of the worlds most recognised airlines, has announced that the final touches to a transformation of its first class cabins are in place and should be on board the airlines longhaul aircraft next month.
The makeover process, which began back in November 2006, has seen the introduction of personalised "turndown" services on board its evening flights, or flights lasting more than 10 hours.
Included will be Egyptian cotton bedding, and the popular Aroma Therapeutics Sleep Enhancer spray, which will be placed on the customers pillows to help provide a better sleep .
Other new introductions to first class customers will be the revamp of the Anya Hindmarch-designed washbag, known as the BAg, which has been redeveloped to include make-up products from the Kiehl Since 1851 range.
The designer range includes the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturiser, Kiehl's Lip Balm #1, and Kiehl's Light Nourishing Eye Cream. The rest of the set is made up of eyeshades, a toothbrush, mouthwash, and socks .
Flight menus have been altered to offer more low-fat options and a wider range of canapés for late-night departures, along with a new Catch of the Day fresh fish option, which has been introduced in association with Loch Fyne restaurants on flights departing from London Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
Another service will be introduced, completing the transformation, called the English Afternoon Tea service, which will feature Twinings teas, assorted sandwiches, scones served with clotted cream and jam, and a selection of pastries.
The redevelopment process is all part of the airlines £200 million product investment over the next year and a half. Other key improvements include a brand new, on-demand, inflight entertainment system, and the re-launch of BAs Club World.
