British holidaymakers are flocking towards the exotic Cape Verde in the Caribbean as a holiday destination, with many also seeing the island as the perfect location for overseas property investment .
Jenny Adams, public relations manager for The Cape Verde Experience (tour operator), said that the republic has become the "must-see" destination to visit, not only for Brits, but also Italians, the Portuguese and many other European residents.
Adams commented: "The UK population is now discovering the appeal of this unique archipelago and there has been a buzz about the islands for the last year as Cape Verde continues to be the must-visit destination."
She added that what follows such interest from holidaymakers is normally interest from those considering purchasing overseas property . The public relations manager said that as a country or destination is "embraced" it is rapidly followed by property investment .
According to Sambala Developments, a 26.4 per cent rise in the number of tourists to the Cape Verde Islands was noted in 2006 by the archipelago's national statistics office .
