Center Parcs To Strengthen Online Brand Scheme

Tue, 17 Jul 2007

Center Parcs, Britain’s number one short break destination, has seen a significant increase in online bookings since it developed its web-booking engine in 2003 – prompting the company to strengthen its share of online bookings by developing a brand new booking engine.

Center Parcs carried out a number of tests on the current web-booking engine in order to understand user issues with the system and then again on the prototype to ensure users were happy and comfortable with its functionality.

A number of changes were made to booking engine, with the most significant being that customers are now able to book up to three units of accommodation instead of the just one that they were previously able to do in one visit – therefore reducing the time that customers have to spend booking their Center Parcs break online .

In addition, customers will be able to select the location of their accommodation with options based on walking distance to the Village centre. Accommodation availability will also be highlighted when there are only a few lodges left for a certain time period meaning that customers can determine how quickly they need to book in order not to miss out.

Further changes include an enhanced search engine, a new function that allows customers to settle their outstanding balance online instead of speaking to call centre staff, plus the overall look and feel of the site has been enhanced to make it easier for users to navigate through the system leading to faster booking processes.

Jo Button, Center Parcs eCommerce Marketing Manager, commented: "We are really excited about this new phase of the site and maximising the customer experience for Center Parcs customers."

"It has fantastic fresh look and feel and we have a number of exciting developments coming up that will strengthen our online brand proposition ."

Development is set to continue, with Center Parcs planning to add an additional functionality, similar to Google Earth, which will allow customers to view and make use of interactive maps of each of the villages at the resort .
