British couples are increasingly going on procreation holidays and tour operators and hoteliers are set to cash in on the latest trend to hit the UK travel market, according to a new study .
Independent research carried out for World Travel Market (WTM) has suggested that as more Brits take breaks in a bid to become pregnant, the UK travel trade is preparing to do all it can to help with the current trend that is already a big hit with holidaymakers in the US.
In response to the rise in procreation holidays luxury hotel chain Starwood has launched specialist packages throughout properties in the Caribbean in a bid to lure wannabe parents.
In addition, UK-based Thomson Holidays (part of the TUI group) also hopes to help existing parents by increasing the opening hours of its kids' clubs .
Derek Jones, distribution director for TUI, commented: "Very often parents might want to try for another baby, but having kids already makes it impossible to get precious time alone."
"Giving them the opportunity to spend quality time together was part of the thinking behind our new Family Club-xtra product," he added.
