Britains online travel market is experiencing rapid growth and could soon be worth an estimated 20 Billion Euros, according to a new report from PhoCusWright Inc.
Following in the footsteps of the US online travel market the largest in the world the UKs online travel market surpassed 13.6 billion Euros in 2006 and is expected to comprise 48 per cent of the overall market by 2008, although growth rates are projected to settle around 20 per cent.
The report also shows how, overall, the UK online travel market has been strengthened by market developments on the supply side, which are fueling consistent demand for travel products and services by British tourists and travellers, which is expected to continue in the long term.
The PhoCusWright's United Kingdom Online Travel Overview report, which provides an in-depth look of the UK travel market and projects trends for 2008, also highlights how online shopping for travel options remains relatively low, although growth for online bookings is strong.
