Camping breaks in the UK have been described as an ideal choice for "budget" getaways, according to the British Resorts and Destinations Association (Brada).
The firms director Peter Hampson said that camping trips are a particularly attractive option for younger travellers, while also equally being "a great budget option from the more organised family side".
Hampson added that in terms of costs, campers are only required to pay for their site fees, making it a considerably cheaper than booking a hotel .
Last year, research published by Barclays Bank revealed that 7 per cent of Brits are "active campers", spending an average of £382 per year on equipment and other camping-related expenses.
In addition, the Camping and Caravanning Club reported that campers, caravanners and motorhome users inject more than £2 billion into the UK economy each year.
