Travellers to Doha over the next few years are set to benefit from the citys vast hotel expansion, with 22 new hotels set to open by 2012 .
Qatars booming capital is investing heavily into its resort sector in a bid to boost tourism to the city ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games .
A further 22 new hotels, including Multinational hotel corporations such as Hilton, The Four Seasons, Hyatt and Inter-Continental, are on course to open for business over the next four years, according to the Qatar Tourism Authority.
Tourism officials said more than $100 billion (£50 billion) is being invested in Dohas infrastructure as part of its effort to hold the 2016 Olympics, with over 800,000 hotel rooms expected to be available in the city by 2016.
Hassan Ali bin Ali, chairman of Doha 2016 bid, said: "Qatar is one of the most exciting countries to visit in the Middle East . We have a rich culture and vibrant history."
"Visitors to Qatar have wonderful opportunities to explore the natural environment, take desert safaris, visit out ancient monuments, relax at our many beaches and pools and attend one of the many international sporting competitions held in Qatar annually," he added.
A recent survey by financial consultancy Deloitte revealed that tourism in the Middle East is continuing to boom with the regions hotel industry one of the fastest growing hospitality sectors in the world.
