UK holidaymakers are increasingly taking to the option of sports holidays, especially those that involve skiing and snowboarding, an expert has revealed.
Snow-sports training company Nonstopadventure.com said such getaways are easy to take due to the large number of European ski resorts being situated so close to the UK .
The groups marketing director Tom Gordon-Walker said: "At the moment we are seeing up to a 100 per cent increase in our bookings this year on last year, so our numbers have been increasing dramatically."
He added that the current strength of the Euro against the pound has led to Brits searching further afar for possible holiday destinations, such as Canada .
Meanwhile figures released by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in January revealed that a 20 per cent of Brits take a winter sports holiday at least once a year.
