Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport has finally been unveiled to reporters this week by British Airways .
Passengers at the terminal will be able to take advantage of the 112 stores and restaurants situated in the state-of-the-art hub.
The new facility also included spacious first-class and business lounges, while the latest X-ray machines and check-in desks are to be introduced.
BAs commercial director, Robert Boyle, said: "We have to compete with business-only airlines, traditional ones and no-frills ones."
"Each year frequent flyers are critical of the delays, poor baggage handling and crowded buildings at Heathrow," he added.
Last year, airport operator BAA announced that work had started on the airports Personal Rapid Transit system, which it said would "revolutionise" the way passengers make their way around the airports buildings.
BAAs project manager David Holdcroft said the new system is part of the firms efforts to help transform Heathrow .
