Late holiday bookings and shorter UK breaks have become a "massive" trend in the current travel market, an industry expert has revealed.
Speaking at last weeks Barclays Travel Forum, Hoseasons Holiday chief executive Richard Carrick, said an increasing number of travellers are booking holidays in the last four weeks before departure.
"People are buying later. To attract that person is becoming harder," he commented.
"Consumers are increasingly promiscuous, which makes it more difficult to promote and market a brand ."
But the chief executive added that areas such as activity breaks, romantic lodge breaks and regional airport travel are becoming increasingly popular among Brits.
