The Caribbean is one of the worlds top luxury destinations, an industry expert has claimed.
Alyson Cook, editor of Luxury Travel magazine, said that the Caribbean is consistently 'raising the bar' in the luxury travel sector and continues to increase in popularity among those looking to take annual family holidays .
She said that family holidays are 'sacrosanct' to people who may be rich in terms of cash but often find it hard to get their timing right.
"The Caribbean does score highly because so many of the venues - Antigua, Barbados and Jamaica - are all very child friendly," Ms Cook said.
"The tendency in this particular market where we are talking about large spend holidays is that the whole family goes together. Quite often grandparents are included and usually the nanny.'"
The magazine editor added that the Caribbeans assurance of good weather is one of, if not the most, important factors in attracting travellers to the region.
Ms Cook also highlighted that the islands accessibility is increasing and there are now 'plenty' of direct flights jetting off from the UK each day.
