The Italian island of Sicily boasts a range of attributes that make it a suitable holiday destination for all seasons, a foreign markets expert has claimed.
Justin Figgins, director of property firm Rightmove Overseas, said that Sicily is becoming more accessible due to an increasing number of carriers offering flights to the island .
He added that the increase in flights, combined with the destination's natural aspects, make Sicily an attractive location for both tourism and investment .
"Sicily offers stunning scenery, a good climate, very affordable property and a range of activities that make it a year-round holiday destination; including great beaches, skiing on Mount Etna and two golf courses," he explained.
Located off the coast of the Italian region of Calabria, Sicily comprises nine provinces, including Messina, Palermo, Syracuse and Trapani.
Flights to the island can be booked with a number of airlines including British Airways, Lufthansa and KLM .
