Travellers planning to head to Italy this year will be able to choose from a wider range of hotels and resorts, the country’s tourist board has revealed.
Visitors to Rome this summer will benefit from a number of new developments, including the Il Cuoco Nero restaurant in the Salario quarter and the boutique Hotel Homs.
Summer tourists to the Chianti area of Tuscany will be treated to the opening of Castel Monastero, a country house resort boasting a number of facilities including a Gordon Ramsay-branded restaurant.
Meanwhile accommodation options on the islands of Italy will also be boosted by a number of new establishments, including the Belli Spa resort in Sicily and the Villa Marina hotel and spa in Capri .
In addition, the Il Villaggio and Le Palme hotels on the popular holiday island of Sardinia have been renovated, while the restyling of large parts of the Forte Village resort has also been completed.
Travel options to Italy have also been increased, with budget carrier easyJet set to introduce new flights to Naples from London Gatwick and Liverpool on 1 May and 1 June respectively.
