Wed, 14 Jan 2009

Virgin Atlantic and bmi have announced an extension to their codeshare agreement, giving customers with both airlines an even greater choice of flight destinations.

The new deal means passengers on bmi’s UK domestic and Middle East networks will soon be able to connect with Virgin Atlantic’s North American flights at Heathrow Airport .

Meanwhile travellers with Virgin Atlantic will be able to make bookings to travel to and from the airline’s long-haul destinations from a total of seven UK hubs, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Leeds/Bradford and Manchester.

The two airlines currently have a codeshare agreement in place whereby bmi services to and from Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Hanover, Venice and Palma link to Virgin’s long-haul flights at Heathrow .

Edmond Rose, commercial and revenue planning director at Virgin Atlantic, said: "This codeshare extension gives customers even more choice of journeys via Heathrow on two great partner airlines, Virgin Atlantic and bmi ."

"We are delighted to work more closely with bmi to provide our customers with access to its excellent Middle Eastern and domestic network."
