Travellers planning on booking flights to Melbourne next year will be able to visit and stay in Australias largest-ever hotel .
The up-and-coming Crown Metropol hotel will have 658 rooms along with a range of suites offering panoramic city views and studios overlooking the bay.
Guests will be able to visit Melbourne's only 'sky-high day spa' and enjoy a gourmet dining experience at Gordon Ramsay's Maze restaurant .
The Crown Metropol will also include a bar on the top floor that will be open to the public.
Designed by Bates Smart, the architecture firm behind Melbourne's Federation Square, the property will have a wave-like shape and feature a 'striking futuristic design' throughout.
The hotel is being built opposite the new Melbourne Exhibition Centre and is scheduled to open for business in early 2010.
Tourists heading to Melbourne this year can book accommodation in a number of new luxury establishments, including the Hilton South Wharf located in the city's waterfront district.
