American Airlines has announced it will expand its services from the UK to the US with the launch of a new flight from Manchester Airport to New York .
The US carrier confirmed it will provide a non-stop daily route to John F Kennedy Airport (JFK) from Manchester next year.
The seasonal service will run from May 16th to September 30th and will be in addition to the airlines weekly flights from Manchester to Chicago .
"We believe this new service to New York will prove equally popular, providing a great connection not only to one of the world's most exciting cities but also to the many destinations we serve from JFK," said Craig Kreeger, the carriers senior vice-president of international services.
Andrew Cornish, managing director of Manchester Airport, commented: "We're delighted that American Airlines have decided to launch their second long-haul service between Manchester and North America ."
"The service to New York JFK offers convenient connections across their US network including Boston, Miami, Orlando, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Diego," he added.
American Airlines also provides flights to Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and a number of other popular US destinations from Britains largest airport, London Heathrow .
