Wed, 03 Feb 2010

EasyJet has expanded its flight network with the launch of two new services to Germany – the airline’s first new routes of 2010.

Travellers can now fly with Europe’s leading low-cost carrier from London Gatwick to both Hamburg and Dusseldorf .

The new routes are part of the company’s plans to introduce over 70 new services across its European network over the next six months.

These will include flights to Cagliari from London Stansted and to Helsinki from Manchester, as well as routes to Barcelona, Amsterdam, Faro, Palma and Prague from Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

EasyJet chief executive Andy Harrison said: "EasyJet continues to attract new customers because we offer the lowest fares to the most convenient airports."

"Despite the challenging economic conditions, we will grow 10 per cent and will carry 50 million passengers this year on over 500 routes."

"The 70 new routes we will launch in the coming months will reinforce our position as Europe's number one air transport network."

EasyJet offers flights across an extensive network covering Europe, north Africa and the Middle East .
