International hotel chain Holiday Inn has announced it is trialling a new human bed-warming service at three of its UK establishments.
The innovative service allows guests at the London Kensington Forum, Holiday Inn Kingston South and Holiday Inn Manchester Central Park to request two members of staff to help warm up their beds.
Dressed in special all-in-one fleece suits, the bed warmers arrive five minutes before bedtime and get in between the sheets to help bring the bed temperature up to 20 degrees Celsius.
Holiday Inn said the bed-warming staff are fully dressed and leave the room as soon as the guests are ready to sleep.
Group spokesperson Jane Bednall said: "People want to leave the cold outside and climb into a warm bed."
"The new Holiday Inn bed warmers service is a bit like having a giant hot water bottle in your bed, warming it up before guests climb in to give them a great night's sleep away from the cold. And of course they jump out before you jump in!"
Holiday Inn said the new service was being trialled in response to the UKs recent freezing weather conditions, and to mark the launch of 3,200 new Holiday Inn hotels worldwide.
