Travel firm Thomas Cook has revealed holiday bookings for summer 2010 have been boosted by its latest TV advertising campaign.
The company said the ads, which feature former footballer Jamie Redknapp and his pop-star wife Louise, have helped increase bookings by 15 per cent in the last four weeks at 2 per cent higher average UK selling prices, following a poor start to summer sales in early January.
It claims the £5m TV campaign had struck a chord with women who were key to deciding holiday destinations, and is considering extending the campaign beyond the scheduled run, which ends later this month.
Group chief executive Manny Fontenla-Novoa said: "Bookings for the summer 2010 season have improved significantly, marking a positive response to our current marketing campaigns and highlighting the resilience of the summer holiday ."
He said that the company was seeing high demand for four- and five-star all inclusive holidays at mid-haul destinations, such as Egypt and Turkey, and added that he was "confident" of meeting full-year expectations.
