The Lake District

It is the largest national park in England and includes Scafell Pick, Keswick and Windermere. It has its own cultural heritage, has famous traditional foods and old traditions such as hound trailing and rush-bearing. The area is also linked to famous writers and poets such as William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.

Famous for its beautiful lakes the Lake District has plenty of natural woodland walks and has a high concentration of outdoor activity such as mountaineering and fell walking. Apart from the outdoor activities there are plenty of other tourist attractions to visit as well.
